Applications are open for the next cohort. New cohorts every two months, on campus in Yaoundé and online across seven countries.Apply
SmartSana Academy

No unnecessary obstacles. A form, a call, a decision.

No entrance exam and no documents to start. You apply in a few minutes, an advisor calls you within two working days, and you choose your cohort. Apart from the 10 000 FCFA application fee (your enrolment fee, paid once only and not refundable), nothing is due until a place is confirmed in writing. A new cohort starts every two months, so the next door is never far away.

10 000 FCFAEnrolment fee, once only · not refundable

Three steps.

The detail is below. These are the three things that actually happen.

1

Apply in minutes

One form, no documents, and the 10 000 FCFA application fee, paid through Tara (Mobile Money, Wave, card or PayPal). It is your enrolment fee: charged once only, not refundable. Unsure of your level? The two-minute quiz on the programme page places you.

2

A decision within two working days

An admissions advisor calls you, then confirms in writing. Fifteen minutes on what you do now, what you want, and whether this programme and level fit. If they do not, we say so.

3

Choose your cohort

A new cohort every two months. You accept the enrolment terms, sent in your language as a file you keep, and your application fee becomes your enrolment fee. Orientation week, then teaching.

In detail

  1. Take the two-minute quiz on the programme page to see whether you should start at Level 1, 2 or 3. It is a signal, not a gate.
  2. Apply, and pay the 10 000 FCFA application fee. One form, no documents. The fee is paid when you send the application, through Tara: MTN Mobile Money, Orange Money, Wave, Visa or Mastercard, or PayPal. It is your enrolment fee, charged once only (not again for Level 2 or Level 3) and not refundable; if we admit you, it holds your seat. Not ready to apply? Request information instead and an advisor calls you first.
  3. We call you within two working days. Fifteen minutes on what you do all day, what you want, which level actually fits, and whether 22 hours a week is realistic for you right now. If the answer is no, we will say so.
  4. Decision within two working days, in writing. If admitted, we send the enrolment terms in your language as a file you can keep and reproduce, and we acknowledge your application in writing within five days as the law requires. Apart from the enrolment fee, which is not refundable, nothing is binding until you accept the terms. After that, each tuition payment is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days of making it.
  5. Choose your cohort. A new one starts every two months. Your fee carries over to whichever one you choose.
  6. Orientation week. Accounts, tools, your cloud sandbox, your squad of four, a tour of the campus at Melen, and the 22 hours set out in writing. Tooling is verified on your actual device.
  7. Teaching begins. First monthly payment at the start of the level.

Who can enrol

RequirementWhat it means in practice
Computer literacyYou can use a browser, send an email and open a spreadsheet. That is the bar for Level 1. Cloud and AI start from what a file is; Data and Marketing start from a spreadsheet.
LanguageWorking French or working English to start. By the end of the level you are taught and assessed in both; that is part of the programme, not a prerequisite.
A device and a connectionAny laptop from the last eight years. If you do not have one, the campus has lab machines and you can work entirely onsite; tell us on the call so we can plan for it.
Time22 hours a week for 11 weeks. This is the requirement people underestimate, and it is the one that decides whether you finish.
Willingness to sit the examThe industry certification is compulsory. If you do not want it, this is the wrong programme and we would rather you knew that now.
AgeEighteen and over for standard enrolment. Under-18 enrolment needs a parent or guardian’s written consent and is handled case by case; see safeguarding.
What we do not offerWe do not offer the HND, the DQP, the CQP or any other State or MINEFOP qualification, and we do not prepare people for them. What we offer is a portfolio of real work and preparation for worldwide-recognised, industry-standard certification, awarded by AWS, Microsoft, CompTIA, Meta, Databricks and the Python Institute, not by us. If a State diploma is what you need, this is the wrong place, and we would rather tell you now.
No entrance examThere is no test to pass and no portfolio to submit. The quiz places you; the phone call confirms it, and it runs in both directions.

A cohort starts every two months, and every cohort opens Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 together. That is why you are not waiting six months for the next entry point, and why the placement quiz can put you straight into Level 2 if you already have the skills. The November cohort pauses for the end-of-year break from 21 December to 2 January, which is why it finishes in February; later cohorts run straight through. These dates are maintained in one file and shown live on this page.
If a date on this page is ever out of date, that is a mistake and we would like to know: tell us. One stale date discredits every other number on a website.

How the week works

This is not a video library you dip into. There is a structure, and the structure is what gets people to the finish line.

What a week containsWhat that means
Two to three live sessionsTaught live, recorded within the hour, and always downloadable. A power cut or a night shift costs you nothing.
One set activity a dayTied to a module, and completion is recorded. Fifteen minutes on a light day, two hours on a heavy one.
One assignment, turned inGraded, with written feedback from your coach, due the same day every week. Forty-eight hours of grace on each.
Project workThe things that end up in your portfolio, built on real data and real briefs from real organisations, several of them our own clients.
About 22 hours in allRoughly three hours a day, or weekday evenings plus one weekend day, for eleven weeks.

If you go quiet for two days, your coach phones you

Not an email. One coach for every twelve learners, and keeping you in the programme is the part of their job we measure.

Every deadline carries 48 hours of grace

Because the power goes out, and because night shifts exist. Sessions are recorded and downloadable for the same reason.

The campus, Melen

Opposite POLYTECH. Free high-bandwidth wifi, lab machines including Windows workstations for Power BI, and backup power so the room works when the grid does not. Open to you throughout your level, during opening hours (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 9 pm; Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm): you can come in simply because the connection is better than at home.

Every programme runs both ways. On campus and fully online, from the same timetable, with the same assignments and the same coach. You choose when you enrol and you can switch between them mid-level by telling your coach.

Assessment

You are assessed continuously by us, and once, independently, by the company that owns the certification. Our assessment decides whether you pass the level; the vendor’s exam decides whether you are certified.

What is assessedHowWeight
Weekly assignmentsEleven assignments, graded with written feedback from your coach, due the same day each week. Forty-eight hours of grace on each.30%
Portfolio projectsThree to five finished pieces of work, published, built on real data or real briefs, several from our own client work.40%
Portfolio defenceYou present and defend your work to an assessor who asks awkward questions, in week 11.20%
Professional practiceWorking French and English, written communication, meeting deadlines, and the data-handling habits set out in each programme.10%
The industry certificationCompulsory. Set and marked by AWS, Microsoft, CompTIA, Meta, Databricks or the Python Institute, never by us. Sat in week 11. It sits outside the grade because it is not ours to grade.Required
To pass the level you need 60% overall on the academy assessment, a pass on the portfolio defence, at least three published projects, and to have sat the industry certification.

Two ways to start. Both begin with a conversation.

Request information if you want an admissions advisor to call you, look at your profile and tell you honestly which programme and level fit. Apply if you already know. Either way, apart from the 10 000 FCFA application fee, which is your enrolment fee, paid once and not refundable, nothing is due until a place is confirmed in writing. After that, each tuition payment is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days of making it.
